The Corpo-Dems are running a political bustout on progressives

The Corpo-Dems are running a political bustout on progressives

Submitted by arendt to our worthy sister site, Caucus99percent Fri, 08/18/2017

I have never seen anything like the circus surrounding Charlottesville. The neoliberal corporate media is stoking the fires by letting both sides say outrageous things - the same way the police stoked the riots by standing aside and refusing to do their jobs. The two sides seem to be the standard far right and a newly minted FAKE far left calling itself antifa.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a disparaging umbrella term for anti-facists of all political persuasions (Jews, gays, anarchists, socialists), which (based on Google trends) had no real circulation before April 2017. Interestingly enough, most of the queries came from Germany, which leads me to belief that this term was coined there and the American alt-right just adopted it, rather than invented it

A reddit comment on "who is antifa?"
    -snip-

The media gives as much free air time to antifa as they did to Donald Trump. They literally go to the bank on the controversy incited by over-the-top Antifa statements. Its all about riling up everyone while making the left (via Antifa) look as bad as the racist right. Just like Hillary wanted to run against Trump, TPTB want to run against the fake left. They want to reduce any public forum for politics to a riot so that they do not have to answer to the public.

The genuine left, the peaceful left, the thoughtful left - they are the victims of this political bustout[NOTE]. The bustout has embezzled the political credit of a century of progressive politics to publicize a bunch of grandstanding IdPol tools, leaving the real left to pay the bills of right wing reaction and inevitable media criticism for "extremism" as soon as Antifa has served its purpose of "dirtying up" the left.

The overreach of Antifa and other IdPol actors is creating a caricature of the left that corresponds to the worst nightmares of every right winger. The banning of people from webistes is a major escalation in the war on free speech; and it has been challenged by the Electronic Freedom Foundation (yeah, they are libertarian hippies, but they are on our side most of the time).

    continued at https://caucus99percent.com/content/...t-progressives

The NOTE at the bottom of arendt's post gives a definition of "bustout": Bustout - a confidence scheme in which an established business is taken over, a large stock of merchandise is purchased on credit and quickly sold, and the business is then abandoned or bankruptcy is declared

Worth reading in its entirety. He makes some very good points.

Arendt, as always, makes good and necessary points.

A larger view would include the fact that fauxgressive sites are trying to gen up progressive loyalty toward Antifa, suggesting that criticism of Antifa makes one a Nazi supporter.

And an even larger view should include the fact that Charlottesville was the Deep Stateís response to the failure of its Russiagate narrative Ė discussed in this short and so-true-that-itís-obvious commentary published on Information Clearinghouse: As Russia-Gate Story Stalls, Cue Trump Neo-Nazi Scandal by Finian Cunningham on August 18, 2017.

I would not trust any site that tries to Hitlerize Trump based on his effort to keep the nation together after the Charlottesville false flag event.

I also could not for the life of me figure out what was so seriously wrong with Trump stating that there "are good people on both sides." There were good people on both sides. It was clearly proven that in addition to the Antifa, there were older folks who wanted to protest the smarmy racism of the White Supremacists. On the side of the right, there were people wanting to protect public monuments.

If Obama had said the same words, the media would have stated: "Look how masterfully he is now calming the stormy political climate surrounding this sorry state of affairs. He is avoiding riots in a dozen places simply by making this one statement."

But no matter what Trump does or says, he gets smeared.

Oh and over on FB, I just saw a link wherein a person could see via a reddit contributor that various sincere Leftists have had their FB and other social media sites taken away from them, while antifa's are now in their place. This type of activity dates back to Dec 2016. I'll have to search through my history and find the link. It was very informative.

The trap for Trump was set by pushing him to make a statement on both sides and I figured out that he wasn't going to choose a side that was worse, so that left him with saying some good on each. Which I do think some of the people who are my friends and are BLM simply have not discerned that the violence is a problem yet.
The left is often not correct, the right is often not right, and we the people are often wronged.

An honest anarchist is too proud to hide her/his face. Hiding their faces just made me doubt their intent
from the beginning on. The supremacists or racists showed themselves very clearly.
So who was hiding what fo which reason?

BTW i just ventured over there, and while Arendt's post that you put up is still tasty, most of the other posts are so boring to the intelligent debate that is going on here and among my FB and reddit friends that I felt snooz-ey.

Really appreciate Vanessa for getting this place up and running.
