US Prepared To Cooperate With Russia In Syria, Says Tillerson
    July 6, 2017

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the United States is prepared to cooperate with Russia in Syria, including on military matters, in a renewed gesture at reconciliation ahead of a meeting this week between the two nations’ leaders.

Tillerson said late on July 5 that the United States is open to establishing no-fly zones in Syria in coordination with Russia as well as jointly setting up mechanisms to monitor cease-fires and to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid.

The U.S.-Russia cooperation would create stability in Syria, Tillerson said, as U.S.-backed forces continue their assault on the Islamic State extremist group, which he said is “badly wounded” and on the “brink of complete defeat.”

“If our two countries work together to establish stability on the ground, it will lay a foundation for progress on the settlement of Syria’s political future,” Tillerson said.

If this is sincere, it goes against the neocon globalist side of the DS, and that's significant. I am assuming it implies that we will back off from direct assaults on Syria, as well?

It will be interesting to see Russia's response.

Have you noticed that Trump and the WH's comments seem to go one way - then the other. It looks to me that's Trumps style, nice cop/bad cop all in one.

as senz said above "it remains to be seen", but it would be nice to see some movement here toards a peaceful solution. But can DT rein in the Pentagon/Wall St mob.
I can imagine Putin, being no fool will wait to see what actions follow - no matter what the Admin says.

I believe Putin has Trump right where he wants him. No way does the DS just let RUSSIA go. They have been ginning this up since the primary and will keep it up for sure.
The left is often not correct, the right is often not right, and we the people are often wronged.

I think that it's good for business.
